Meet your English teacher Mel D!

Hello, I'm Mel D. I've been teaching since 2009. I have international experience teaching adults and children. In my lessons, I like to use humor in order to help students feel welcome and relaxed. I believe that a classroom should be a safe environment where students feel free to speak and express themselves. If the student is very young, I like to use TPR, props, and drawings in situations when I need to explain a word without using the student's native language. I am very patient and I adapt to the student's needs and to their way of learning by assessing their weak and strong points. In my free time, I like to sew and make different household items, paint and draw. I love animals and I try to help them as much as I can. Also, I do yoga every day, and I enjoy swimming and meditating. I love reading, especially epic fantasy novels, and everything that is connected to magic. My Superpower is that I am heavily into travelling so I've visited 62 countries and I make jewelry, clothes, and toys! I look forward to working with you in our first class!
